The B.Sc in Optometry is a comprehensive 4-year undergraduate program (3 years academic + 1-year internship) dedicated to the science of vision care. Affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), this course trains students to examine, diagnose, and manage visual system disorders. At Mathrushree, optometry students gain unique clinical exposure by working with advanced ophthalmic equipment in our integrated hospital, preparing them to be essential primary eye care providers

Eligibility Criteria

Looking for B.Sc Optometry admissions in Bangalore? Applicants must meet the following RGUHS eligibility standards:

  • Academic Qualification: Must have passed 10+2 (PUC II) or an equivalent examination with Science subjects.

  • Core Subjects: Mandatory subjects include Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). Mathematics as an optional subject is also considered.

  • Minimum Marks: At least 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying subjects (40% for SC/ST candidates of Karnataka).

  • Age Requirement: Candidates must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission.

  • Lateral Entry: Diploma holders in Ophthalmic Technology (recognized by RGUHS) are eligible for direct admission to the 2nd year.
